Good news! The backing track is in the key of E, and it stays in the key of E!

We don't have to worry about any chord changes here at all. This is often true with funk music as you vamp over one and the same chord for long periods of time.

If you have a bit of a vocabulary of licks this makes for a great opportunity to try them out without trying to keep track of what chords are playing behind you.
